Considering The Kirk?
You’re Invited! Please join us for this three-week, in-person class during which you will gain a clear understanding of The Kirk’s vision and values. You’ll also learn about the many ways you can get more connected and involved in Kirk missions and ministries. At the end of the third session, you will have the option to commit to membership if you so choose. Join us and meet some new people! The class will take place Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 PM in the Chapel September 11 – September 25. You can register by clicking here.
Finding Hope Support Group
Finding Hope is a support group for loved ones of addicts. Everyone is welcome to attend! It is an ongoing program, so it is open to new attendees each meeting. If you know of anyone that is in need of a support group like this, please pass this information along. Meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:00 PM in The Kirk Library. If you have any questions regarding Finding Hope, contact Jera Holder.
New Group Starting in the Fall
Most people hear the word recovery and think of major addictions. But we all wrestle with something: anger, gossip, greed… To embrace the freedom found only in Christ’s redemption, we must get to the root of sin and suffering. Building on the incomplete truths of traditional recovery programs, Steps helps disciples see these truths through the light of Scripture and a personal relationship with Jesus.
If you’re interested or know someone who may be, please contact Sarah Cluck at scluck@thekirk.com.
Heart Conditions
The book of Psalms is an ancient collection of Hebrew poems intended to guide God’s people in worship and prayer. Written by a variety of authors across a span of time, this collection captures the full range of human emotion and experience. For this reason, the psalms expose, shape and challenge the various heart conditions that form aspects of the universal human condition. When we read the psalms, we resonate with the words because they describe our experience. Yet, the ultimate goal is not just greater self-awareness, but greater knowledge of and trust in God. Our hope and prayer is that in this series we will allow God’s Word to not only expose these heart conditions, but allow our hearts to be healed and transformed.
The Well
Ladies, join us once again on Monday mornings or Wednesday evenings for great fellowship with other ladies and an in-depth study of the book of Romans led by Pastor Dan Bair. Childcare is available. To register for The Well and for childcare, go to thekirk.com/events.
