From Series: "Wonder Bread - The Gospel of Luke " Jesus said: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35) Bread was a daily essential food in the ancient world, especially in this part of the world, so it was a powerful and relatable symbol for life, provision, and dependence on God. When Jesus equated himself with bread, he was saying: I am essential to life, without me, you will die. Wonder Bread is a series which explores meals with Jesus in Luke’s Gospel, with the hope of growing in our hunger for the true bread of life.
