Jesus said: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35) Bread was a daily essential food in the ancient world, especially in this part of the world, so it was a powerful and relatable symbol for life, provision, and dependence on God. When Jesus equated himself with bread, he was saying: I am essential to life, without me, you will die. Wonder Bread is a series which explores meals with Jesus in Luke’s Gospel, with the hope of growing in our hunger for the true bread of life.
This series features stories of people from different parts of the Bible whose brokenness is put on full display only to be followed by corresponding stories of redemption. Join us for this season of Lent as we reflect on our own brokenness and look for ways that God is bringing redemption into our lives through the power of gospel.
