Bread of Miracles
Scripture References: Luke 9:10-17

Jesus said: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35) Bread was a daily essential food in the ancient world, especially in this part of the world, so it was a powerful and relatable symbol for life, provision, and dependence on God. When Jesus equated himself with bread, he was saying: I am essential to life, without me, you will die. Wonder Bread is a series which explores meals with Jesus in Luke’s Gospel, with the hope of growing in our hunger for the true bread of life.

The prophets in the Bible announced coming judgment because of sin, but also held out hope that God would turn the hearts of his people back through repentance. To repent means to turn away from sin and return to God. This turning back is not just a one time event, but an ongoing aspect of our spiritual formation. If you are on a road trip and take a wrong turn, a U-Turn is Required! The same is true in life. Join us this summer as we learn about repentance and renewal as we study the Minor Prophets of the Old Testament.
