Online giving is available again to those who desire to use it. You are free to give via the weekly offering in the worship service, by mailing your contribution in to the office, or now online and we welcome you to give whatever God has called you to, however God has called you to.
You can also designate where your gift goes (general fund, building program, missions, etc.) and the frequency in which you give. You will also be able to track your online giving by logging in nd viewing your history. Online giving is secure and tax deductible. Online giving allows you to set-up your giving using either a credit card, debit card or an automatic bank draft to your account.
You can schedule regular payments. If you haven't yet created a profile, we encourage you to do so.
Please note that the church strongly discourages online giving which leads to personal indebtedness.
For that reason, we prefer that you use an E-check draft from your banking account, a debit card, or credit card which is paid monthly.
Benefits of online giving:
* You can prioritize giving in your budget.
The Bible indicates giving is to be a "first" and not a last or leftover matter in my life. Read Proverbs 3:9-10. It is easy to let our standards and intentions be compromised by the press of expenses and billing cycles. With online giving, your giving is done automatically.
* You can increase your faithfulness.
Have you ever forgotten your gift, left it at home or pledged to double it in the future? Have you had times where you have fallen behind because of travel and other schedule interruptions? Online giving provides a way to strengthen your faithfulness.
* You can help your church.
Through online giving, you expedite your gift, simplify our accounting, and strengthen our base of regular support.

* You can encourage faith and faithfulness in the lives of fellow believers.
As you plan and prioritize your giving, you will lead the way for others to grow and mature in their spiritual stewardship. Being a forerunner in this new area of planned giving, you can provide personal testimony and example for others to follow.

There are tax advantages in giving appreciated stock held for more than one year. Giving the stock to the church and then letting the church sell the stock eliminates potential capital gains taxes and can increase the after-tax proceeds. To make a stock gift to the Kirk:

Stock Gifts-
With the stock market on the rebound, this might be a good time to consider a gift of stock to the Kirk. Often you can avoid paying tax on the appreciation of stock by donating it to the Kirk and you will still receive a tax deduction for the stock's full fair market value. Pledging Examples:
Example #1
Q: Our family income is $60,000 per year, what is considered our Biblical Tithe?
A: A quick background: "The tithe was a requirement of the law in which all Israelites were to give 10% of everything they earned and grew to the Tabernacle / Temple (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24; 2 Chronicles 31:5)." Having said that, although the New Testament does not identify a specific amount or percentage to give, it does talk about the importance and benefits of giving. They should give as they are able, in keeping with his income. Sometimes that means giving more than a tithe, sometime that may mean giving less than a tithe. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Each and every Christian should diligently pray and seek Gods wisdom as to whether to participate in tithing and/or how much he or she should give (James 1:5). Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)."
Given the Old Testament scripture;
10% of $60,000 = $6,000 or $500/month
Example #2
Q: We are on a tight budget, we want to pledge but we’re not sure we can make it to 10%. What percentage is a gift of $4,200 ($350/month) with an income of $70,000?
A: 6.0%
Again quoting Paul in the New Testament: “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)." It would be great if every believer could give 10% of their earnings, but the realty is that this is not always possible.
Additional examples:
8% of $35,000 = $2,800 or $234/month
6% of $55,000 = $3,300 or $275/month

By now, all of you have received the packet for the “Reaching Beyond” campaign. We hope you have viewed the DVD, read the materials and are going through the included devotional booklet. We have enjoyed the home dessert meetings and hearing from you.
Our next step is on Sunday, March 7th. We are asking all of you to turn in your commitment card, indicating your pledge to Reaching Beyond. Please take the time between now and then to give prayerful consideration to your response. This commitment is for Kirk of the Hills and Kirk Crossing spanning three years.
We have an opportunity for us to do what our spiritual predecessors did when they founded the Kirk in 1961. Lord willing, Kirk Crossing will reach out to thousands of people, even as the Kirk has already done. We also believe this mission will revitalize what we do at 61st street in upcoming decades.
You can make your commitment on Sunday, March 7th
