Qualifications/Special Skills
Full-time position. Be a committed Christian, active in a local church, with concern for and interest in all aspects of the church and its mission. Pleasing phone voice and personal demeanor. Ability to communicate easily with members as well as visitors. Ability to be flexible in all situations. Familiarity with computers and PBX (switchboard & voicemail) systems.
Basic Function
The Receptionist is responsible for receiving all telephone calls, visitors, mail, and deliveries to the church office. The Receptionist also assists the secretaries as needed with bulk mailings, typing, filing, and computer database input.
Staff Relationships
The Receptionist works with both volunteers and the entire church staff.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Answer and process all telephone calls and messages.
- Receive all visitors to the church office. (Conduct self in a Christian manner, exhibiting an excellent first impression to members and visitors alike.)
- Keep assigned area neat and presentable to the public.
- Call hospitals daily and prepare Kirk hospital report.
- Train and supervise desk volunteers
- Assist as with SHELBY (database) input
- Contact “stuffers”/volunteers when needed
- Prepare mail for posting; receive, sort, and deliver all incoming mail.
- Compile and record monthly postal report
- Prepare labels for bulk mailings; sort and bag mailings; arrange for delivery.
- Prepare “Today and the Kirk” and Custodial reports from EventsU daily
- Prepare labels for sermon tapes - weekly
- Backup liaison for Deacons Fund clients
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Administrator.
Accountability
The Receptionist is accountable to Office Manager.
CARA Program Director
Part-Time Program Director
C.A.R.A., our North Tulsa after-school program is looking for a part-time program director. If you have a love for children and educating them, this is a great opportunity. The PT position includes classes from 2:30-6:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Curriculum development and volunteer oversight are a large part of this position.
